Stretch Marks, lets be honest.

How many of us have them? How many of us are struggling with them? I literally had a bunch show up the other night when baby dropped its been pretty hard for me emotionally. I think over time when they fade I will deal better but right now its really got me down. I had some from puberty but they were never this red or bad even though my doc tells me they aren't bad I still feel emotionally spent. Doesn't help I am swelling and have hives from the heat/sweat. Yeah I am kind of an emotional wreck lol.It isn't helping the little dude is overdue.

  • I have stretch marks on my boobs, thighs, side, and all over my stomach from having three kids. I never got them during puberty. They haven't effected my emotional well-being. They are just a fact of life and a battle scar from getting the privilege of birthing three beautiful babies. They do fade with time.

  • I escaped my first pg stretch mark free, but they showed up around 35 weeks this time. I have a big claw-shaped group of them above my belly button that look especially lovely now that my belly is shrinking & saggy. Sigh. I dont think my body will ever fully recover from this pregnancy.

  • I got a couple of light ones on the insides of my thighs. I am shocked I didn't get more.

  • I didn't get any on my tummy, which quite frankly I'm surprised by because my mom and sister both looked like road maps, or so they say, after their pregnancies. I have a couple of my sides. Luckily, they're hardly noticeable as is.

  • Mine started out as little pink polka dots and then got uglier from there. Im very, very fair though. Im just glad theyre not purple!

My body just did something amazing. Every time I look at my son Im a little shocked I made something so beautiful. If I have to trade a saggy tummy and some stretch marks for him thats a perfectly good trade off to me.

On a less sappy note, its a really good thing me and my DH are both really into lingere.

  • I hear you...it's hard dealing with body changes, especially when you think they may be permanent.

This is a sad but beautiful story that may help you think of your stretch marks in a  positive way..be warned though that you may need some Kleenex.

I'm covered in them. They are on my stomach, back, hips, thighs, boobs, and one is even on my arm. I had a low self-esteem before giving birth and the way my body has changed has definitely been hard to accept. I have found that buying myself new clothes and pampering myself has helped a lot. The weight gain bothers me more than the stretch marks. The only person who will ever see those is DH. I can hide them from everyone else with modest clothing. I also figure that I will give the stretch marks time to fade. Usually they will fade significantly in 6 months. Then if they still are really dark I might go to a dermatologist and get them treated!

  • My whole stomach is covered in them and Im so unimpressed. I was part of a birth club in my town and not only has every single other girl had thier baby and Ive gone overdue and the last one to have thier baby! Im the only one who looks so awful during thier pregnancy!!

Thier all so skinny and were poster girls for pregnancy, showing off thier beautiful bumps and not one stretchmark and I wouldnt dare lift my shirt! How fair is that? Then after birth, I see them around town and thier all in thier regular jeans again!! I was overweight before the pregnancy and already had stretchmarks on my hips and boobs from puberty time that have faded but are still there... So yeah, I get the emotionally difficult thing...

Look at this link when you feel down again :) And then wear your stretchmarks with pride!

  • I only got a few on my hips from my first pregnancy. This time around they decided to pop up everywhere. My belly is covered with them. The purple color is finally starting to go away now that baby is out and the skin isn't so stretched, but the damage has been done. No more bikinis for me.

  • I have lots from my 3 pregnancies. Yeah, it sucked at first (I got the most by far with my first pregnancy), but I got over it eventually. It's just a part of my body as a mother now.

All this!  With DD1, I got them really badly on my upper thighs, but my stomach was clear.  With DD2, I got them all over my stomach, but not on my thighs.  I'm sure if we have a third, a new crop will appear.

I still try to use the creams and would love for them to fade, but it's not the end of the world.
