So, if you've been (mostly) avoiding caffeine while pregnant, don't suddenly decide that it would be ok to have some Diet Coke with pizza at a friend's house at 7 pm. You will be up all night, have the worst heartburn ever, and possibly even throw up around 4 am. It's especially stupid to do this the night before your baby shower. Just sayin'.

Re: Word to the wise
ICK! Pizza is the only food that gives me heartburn while I am pg! Have fun at your shower and I hope you feel better!
Oh, that's a bummer! I can never sleep these days unless I take Unisom (and yes, I have been told it's okay to have doxylamine succinate during pregnancy, and in fact, it used to be marketed for ms). I have to avoid caffeine after 2 PM even when I'm not pg, or have sleep troubles.
I hope you feel better today! Pizza sauce, tomato sauce, and anything very acidic has been giving me heartburn, too, so I feel for you!
