Facebook Group for Pregnant over 35!

HI! I just started a facebook group for women who are, were or would like to be pregnant over 35. Anyone wanting to join here is the link:

I think its a great idea.  I am in two private groups that have formed from groups over here and they have been nothign but supportive and a great way to ask questions to people from all over and stay in touch.

 I would never join a FB like this unless it was private and I'm not clear from your post whether or not this group is. Especially since this is such an emotional time for us and the last thing I'd want was for other people in my FB world to know ANYTHING about my TTC journey until/unless I was ready to tell those people. 

Also, the last thing I would want to hear about is pregnancy stuff from the women who are already pregnant-- especially if they didn't have any of the obstacles women on this board tend to experience. FB is already rife with friends and acquaintances who are getting KU left and right, so often "by accident," that this board was one of the few escapes from all that.

Ladies- beware of this.

I was lurking on the PG>35 page and Benoitfan smartly pointed out the following "FYI - I just looked at the group. It is closed (ie. by invite only), but it IS NOT PRIVATE. Which means every post will show on the newsfeed and every one of your friends will see all your business about your pg. In order for that not to happen the group must be SECRET."

I'm guessing no one wants people to know that they are TTC and also, your friends don't want a play by play of your TTC efforts. That's just weird and gross.

I don''t trust facebook any further than I can throw it.  Maybe that is just me and my Luddite fear of technology.  Even if it were to be a "private" group, or whatever the fb terminology is, I don't trust that it would stay that way once fb has some sort of wholesale change. 

Plus, I don't really see the need.  You gals are great, and I don't see how facebook would enhance that.

PS:  No offense to the original poster, but I think it is a little weird that someone who is brand new (and I think unknown to us?) is trying to get us to join a facebook group.

Oh well, Luddite + conspiracy theorist = me.

Wow....that's kinda crazy that it is not private. I have no interest or need. Heck why would I want to be in a group when the ladies are already PG! I have enough of that IRL.

Also I just to a look at the group via the link provided. I'm not a member, but I can see the names and profile pic of all those who are. Definitely not private.
