Too much amniotic fluid?

First off, I will never understand why the doctors office calls at 4:30 when they close at 5 and expect you to call them back. And to top it off when I didn't answer my phone they called my DH leaving him the detailed message of the situation and left me the generic "call us back ASAP" message.

Anyways, after my ultrasound yesterday they discovered I have twice the amount of amniotic fluid that I should have.  I guess they thought it was due to gestational diabetes (which I don't have) and then thought it was due to high BP (which I haven't had all pregnancy).  Either way, if LO doesn't make her appearance by my due date they want to induce within a day.  Is this normal or is anyone else going through the same thing?
