Thinking about Babies...

We just got married April 21st of this year and have been talking about babies for a while. The discussion has only gotten serious AFTER the wedding. We've been together 7 years before the wedding, so I feel comfortable knowing he's going to be an amazing father and very supportive.

The problem is, I simply don't feel ready yet. My husband does, and is trying to convince me I'm ready too, but I KNOW myself. I told him to give me one year and we could revisit it. I'll probably always be terrified of the idea, but I want to be excited to have a little bundle to snuggle, too. And I'm not there yet.

So I'm wondering...how has your life changed after the baby? Are there any things you wished you'd done before having a baby?

Thanks for your answers!

Re: Thinking about Babies...

  • Even though I haven't had the baby yet, my view has greatly changed. I honestly wasn't sure I even wanted children, and if I did, it wasn't going to be for a long time. She was unplanned, and I've had to put my life on hold, but I'm definitely ready. I had just gotten accepted into the nursing program after working my BUTT off for it, and now I have to wait a year. I've realized that having a baby hasn't meant I can't do anything I wanted to do, it's just delayed it a bit. I'm sure it will all be more than worth it though!
