? TTC after IUD

Hello All-- My husband and I have decided to try for #2 and I am getting my IUD out in August.  I have had it in for 2 1/2 years and haven't seen AF for about 1 1/2 of it.  Any one else have similary experiences? How long did it take to get pregnant after removing an IUD?

 

Just looking for any information.  Thanks!

I got my IUD in after my son was born in Oct 2009, I had it removed in February of 2012, got AF in March,  and got my BFP in APRIL!!! And i never ever had one period or bled at all the whole time I had it in, but obviously conceived pretty quickly after having it removed! Good Luck!!!

I only had my IUD in for about a year w/ no AF during that time. I got it out on April 2nd, got my AF on the 6th and am 11 weeks PG today. But I don't think that's typical. It completely depends on the person.

I had mine out May 18th and got my period the next day.  We were told to wait 1 cycle.  And now I am on day 33 with no period.  I only had the mirena for 10 months.  In the past I have always been right on a 28 day cycle. Both of my kids were conceived right away so I am wondering if it is gonna take longer after the mirena.

I had mine in for 3 years with no period.... Got it out April 3rd and it took 7 weeks to get my period.  Got prego first cycle though!  Hopefully you will be as lucky!  Hardest part was just waiting for AF to show up!

I had the paraguard because it is non hormonal and I knew that I wanted to try to have kids without dealing with the hormones subsiding as well. I had it in for about a year and a half. I always got my period on it.

It was taken out on April 11th and we got pregnant on April 14th. So 3 whole days.

I got mine out in late March of this year and about 4 days later had AF. It took me 2 cycles to get a BFP, i'm 8 weeks along now. I think it's different with everyone, but we didn't have an issues.

I had mine in for 18 months and never had AF while I had it. I got it taken out at the beginning of March and I had AF at the end of April. I got pregnant in May! Everyone is different, and I thought AF would never come after I had it removed, but it didn't seem to hurt my fertility at all!

I had mine in for 2 years with no AF, I got mine out in March and got pregnant on our first month of trying in May.

My Husband and I just decided to try for #3. My IUD was removed on April 27th and we found out this week that I am 8 weeks pregnant!! Apparently it doesn't take long... Good Luck in August!

It should depend on the type of IUD-Paraguard or Mirena.  

You may want to talk to your doctor about waiting one cycle to build the lining of your uterus.  I had mine removed about 8 months before TTC (I was away from DH for 5 months), but my sister is planning for shortly after IUD removal so she is waiting a cycle and using POM.

I had the Paragard for 3+ years. Removed in early April. First AF in late-April. Pregnant in March.

My Mirena was in for 4 1/2 years. Pulled it 3/28, had my first normal period 4/26, and a BFP on 5/21.

I had my IUD taken out on 4/13. Conceived on/around 6/3.

I took out my Mirena at the end of February, and got my BFP in April, when we weren't even "trying". I did have AF regulalryl though,a nd really heavy bleeding after I took the IUD out.
