I set up a ball pit in our living room and have been running the AC. Poor DD wants to go outside though. Today is supposed to be a little cooler (only 90!!) so we are going to attempt the kiddie pool on our backyard. She needs to run off some energy.
My toddler has to get outside and he doesn't seem to mind the heat. So I somewhat frequently let him play in the backyard and I set the baby up in the playroom (right off the backyard) and go back and forth between the two, or stand by the window. I don't want the baby out in the heat if she doesn't have to be, but I know my son needs it and I just make him drink when he comes in. He also doesn't stay out as long if we're inside.
Re: How do I keep a newborn and toddler cool during a heat wave??
Whole lot of air conditioning.
I took the kids to the children's museum yesterday so they could run around but still be in the air conditioning. It worked well.
We're doing the beach today.
In house I dress in just shirt or onsie with diapers and run the air and/or fans
In the car my A/C sucks and DS was rear facing I got a clip on stroller fan and clipped it onto the backseat headrest.
