I can't believe I'm first asking this but it was never a problem. Lucas rolls both ways but really didn't like to. This past week he is rolling all the time, sitting up from laying position etc. He tummy sleeps and never ever once rolled in his crib. Now this week he wakes every hour because he rolls onto his back which wakes him and he screams. We flip him back but it never helps. He will not flip back himself and also has never in his life slept on his back. Did I miss something previously discussed on on how to deal with this. He finally is feeling better and ate and nursed great and already woke up an hour into sleep bc he rolled. Thoughts? Suggestions?
Re: Rolling question/sleep
Ugh. Well we had the opposite problem, she was used to sleeping on her back swaddled but when she started rolling and we stopped swaddling she would roll onto her belly and scream. That first week was torture, she was literally up about 12 times a night. It lasted for a few weeks, but now she sleeps on her belly all the time. As soon as I put her down in the crib for bed she rolls right onto her side and either right away or eventually onto her stomach. She still does not sleep as good as she did swaddled and usually wakes up 1-4 times but it's much better than it was.
To sum that up, unfortunately I don't think there is much you can do about it. He will get used to it eventually. To this day, A still will not roll onto to back. I know she can do it since she did it for ONE day almost 3 months ago, she just has absolutely no interest. Lucas will figure it out eventually, it's just new to him right now.

Haha, I ask because A only rolls to the left. Since that is the case, I do have one suggestion that I have tried a few times. Maybe you already do this but instead of putting him in the middle of the crib, try putting him against the side so that when he rolls he can't go all the way over, and will be forced to either stay on his side or go back on his stomach. Not sure if it will work but maybe worth a try?
