Re: New OBGYN Needed - Shanon Forseter Reviews
We are going to Dr. Forseter too. A few of the women that meet at Kangaroo Kids off Manchester have had experiences with him if you wanted to go talk to them. I know there is a VBAC meeting the second monday of each month at 10am or 10:30 if you wanted to talk to some of the women that have delivered with him. You can also see some reviews on Vitals.com or ratemds.com and a few other sites.
Also, the doctor I left to come to Dr. Forseter was not pleased with my choice of doctor. The doctor implied that Dr. Forseter needs to have tabs kept on him which to some extent I have seen in reviews where people needed to contact him multiple times for labor and remind him of birth plans. I can understand needing to be reminded or birth plans, women should always print multiple copies to give to each nurse shift as well as the doctor but being hours late to delivery is unaccetable in my opinion. Still the negative reviews were minimal compared to the positive ones. My previous doctor also recommended I speak to the nurses at the hospitals that have dealt with him before and get their opinion. We havent done our hospital tour yet so we haven't heard anything from nurses yet.
As far as work leave is concerned, I think the other moms have basically already said it but that is a personal decision for you to make as long as you do not have any medical complications. Six weeks seems long enough to me personally. I took 8 weeks with my first baby because I was nursing but I was really ready to get back to work by the end of it because honestly I was a little bored. I guess just gauge your work load at work. You can plan on taking the max your work will pay you full salary for and see if your manager will let you decide to add time after the baby is born when you know if the baby needs some more mommy time or if going back to work seems okay.
Thank you...wasn't meaning how much leave I get through my job, that?s all pretty standard through FMLA, etc...I was more referring to how long this doctor writes you out for if you don?t feel comfortable going back to work right away after baby is here. Say you have a normal delivery, which would be 6 weeks of paid leave..., but your doctor could write you out for an additional period of time, say two more weeks...and that then would also be covered under paid leave since wrote as ?medically necessary?, then you would flip to vacation/unpaid leave up to 12 weeks off total. With my current doctor...his response of him saying he didn?t think I would need more than 6 weeks was a red flag because depending on nursing/baby weight gain, etc, might not be comfortable leaving her just yet. I don?t know...I?m just an anxious person and having him say that scared me to death. He has also made other "mistakes" as in telling me things are completely normal when they truly were not..so I don?t really trust his judgment as it is. Thank you again for your response.
Oh I see what you mean. I am not sure if he would but he seems like the type that would. We go back Tuesday for our next appt, I will go ahead and ask him because I would like to know the same thing.
Just met with him for my "meet & greet"...he seems like a great doctor. I also totally trust that he will listen to me with any concerns during and AFTER birth...how relieving!! Thank you again for your comments/input!
