I have been getting points for all the posts that I have been writing - what are these points for?

    From what I've gathered, the points aren't for anything except fun.  You can't redeem them for anything.

    Basically points just show how active of a poster you are.  You get a certain amount for creating a post and a certain amount for responding to a post.  If your post is popular or you get quoted a lot, you get more points.  The points are really "pointless"- like the pp said, you can't trade them in or anything :)
