Special Needs

Osteogenesis imperfecta

Hey mamas, havnt been on this board for quite some time seeing as a found a large OI community. Just wanted to post that Zoe is doing well. She has 3 surgeries now, one for a port placement and 2 rodding surgeries to out telescoping rods in her femurs. She's had upwards of 40 fractures but has just started sitting (20 months old) as her treatments have been showing to make her bones stronger and the fractures in her spine are few and far between.

Just wondering if any of you see another mom with questions about brittle bones, an anatomy scan showing shorten and bowed limbs, or anything having to do with OI if you could send them my way! My email is chelsealush@gmail.com. You all helped me feel not alone when starting to venture into the special needs world and it helped keep my spirits up. Thanks ladies!!

mom to baby Zoe, DX Osteogenesis Imperfecta type 3, over 50 fractures since birth, 4 surgeries, uses a wheelchair, severe sleep apnea, mild hydrocephalus, beautiful blue eyes.
