Pronounce Danica

So I always thought Danica (Danicka) was pronounced Dan-ick-a.  I was watching a show on HGTV the other day and someone pronounced it Da-nique-a (sorry I am bad at spelling it out).  

What do you think?

I think most people would pronounce it like Danica Patrick, the racecar driver. 

DAN-ick-uh  (like Monica but with Dan in front)

I always thought Danicka too. I don't love the name either way, but I prefer this spelling.

We just had this convo a few days ago.

I've heard it both ways, but the first person I knew with this name pronounced it Da-NEEK-a, so that's always how I read it first.

We pronounce it Dan-a-ca. Only once has someone said Da-neek-a. It was my mom in the room at the hospital and she said it on the phone to my aunt. I quickly fixed that (and shot a dirty look haha).

I've known two people with this name. One pronounces it Dan-ik-ah, the other Da-KNEE-kuh.

Were they a different ethnicity? I knew a girl named Aniqa, which I thought was An-nick-a, but it was really A-NEEK-a. I think she was Pakistani so that might have something to do with it.

ETA I would pronounce it Dan-ick-a if I saw it.
