Post partum belly band?

Hi ladies- Just planning ahead here, but has anyone bought or planning on buying a belly binding type band after birth? If so, what did/are you getting? I think I want to get one. I remember wearing one in the hospital after my first but I think I would like one for a few weeks after too. THoughts? I want to make sure I get a good one!

Also, is anyone wearing one while you are pregnant?! Things are getting a bit tight in there and hanging a bit lower this time....

  • They gave me one in the hospital to take home. I absolutely loved it! I seriously wore it all day and night for the first 6 weeks. It made it easy and comfortable to wear pants since it protected my incision from the rubbing of the waistband. And it helped me feel "pulled together" not all flabby.

I didn't wear one just those ugly underwear the hospital gave me. Once home it was winter and I wore a lot of maternity leggins under dresses or long sweaters. They kinda held me in.

After about a week at home I started wearing my Target version of spanx b/c well my clothes fit better when I wore them. I also found it made my back feel better.

  • I had 1 from the hospital with my 1st CS. But it kinda sucked. It was better than nothing but could been so much better. It was extremely long like I had to fold it. And I don't have a short torso. It also got stretched out really fast. It did help moving around & definately with back pain.

I want to get 1 this time around. I'm thinking about getting a Belly Bandit. Hear lots of good things about it & I plan to wear for 6 weeks!

  • I wore the belly bandit for 7 weeks after my c/s.  I loved it; it really made me feel more pulled together, and my tummy shrunk quickly.  I actually had to buy a size smaller 5 weeks pp.  I highly recommend them!  (They're much more comfortable and fit better under clothes than the one given by the hospital).
