I just got into a discussion on FB about this. What are appropriate pool entering methods while pregnant? I usually am a diver and can't stand the whole slow torturous entry of walking into the pool. Diving and jumping just don't seem right in the third tri.

Re: Worlds stupidest question. Maybe I should just go to first tri.
I think belly flopping or diving is a no-no because of the chance of placental abruption anytime you fall on your belly or it is whacked with any kind of force. The force of the water hitting it has the potential, I would think.
That being said, a non-forceful dip in shouldn't cause an issue I wouldn't think.

Just walk in quickly or shower or hose yourself down first. lol
I used this. It doesn't work for everybody.

Reading the responses to this post have brightend my day. I am not really a swimmer but it made me think aout how I would go about getting in and the visual of it all was rather amusing.
The things that we bumpies have to think about lol
Shoot. You took my answer.
OP, I dove in, but don't go by me, I was doing laps daily and I was used to it prepregnancy. It didn't resemble a belly flop or anything, but it probably wasn't very graceful.
lurker laughing....there should be a picture for that.
I'll probably get a side eyed but I still jump/cannonball in. But we swim in lakes mostly so it's only a once in a while cannonball.
