Halloween (b/c I'm that bored)

Last night I got to thinking about what I'm going to dress my new bundle up as for halloween. I know, It's a bit early and some of you probably think it's tacky or overrated "She's only going to be a month old" but I dress my dog (Kevin) up so why not?

I'd love to make her a Glow Worm. This way she would be cozy enough to sit on the porch and hand out candy with us. So what are some of your favorite things that you have dressed your LOs up as?

My baby shower was duck themed, so DD was a duck for her first Halloween and it was a great costume for an infant:

I'm thinking about doing a Wizard of Oz theme for the family this year -- DD as Dorothy, H as the scarecrow, me as the wicked witch and LO as either Toto or a flying monkey. Or a munchkin...

We have a long sleeved Batman onesie that I plan on putting DD in with a yellow tutu and black pants/legwarmers.

We really don't do anything either. Hahaha. I order pizza and we sit on the porch handing out candy for the kids and beer to the parents. It's nice because we live in a small little town and they close off the street for a few hours.

I've already looked at Costumeexpress.com.  The biggest issue I have in costuming the children each year is the crazy Alabama weather--it is so hard to predict autumn temps!  One day it might be chilly enough for a jacket, the next day might call for shorts.  My older children really enjoy Halloween, but we try to keep on the lighter side with fun, not scary, costumes and decorations.

DF said she could be...a newborn boo! lol she'll be that everyday.  i might find a cute onesie "costume" or dress her up as a pea in a pod.  shes just going to sit in the living room but still she will be cute.

Wow, I hadn't even thought of that. DS was born 10 days after Halloween so I've never dressed up a "little" baby (he was about 1 for his first). Hmm!

I don't think it's weird. Holidays are fun with kids. 

ETA: LOL @ The Hangover costume. I saw that on Pinterest, too - so hilarious. Great execution

If I have DS and DD match this year, I'm thinking of Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf costumes.  If non-matching, I've found tons of cute tutus on Etsy for a ladybug, butterfly, bumble bee, etc.

I made Ashton a scarecrow. I covered his stroller in burlap since he wasn't walking well enough to go the whole trip. I think it was pretty damn cute.

Steal away. We found all the props on Amazon (minus the nb hat, which was actually DD's from the hospital), including the satchel that I still use as a cross body when sans DD!  MH was just mad he didn't have more time to grow out the hair/beard.

My husband wants to do a Avengers theme with all the kids this year. We found a baby hulk and captain america costumes. Then my daughter wants to be black widow. My older son as either thor or iron man and my husband as nick furry. I think they will be cute.

I'm hoping to dress her up as a kitty (since it's a nickname of Katherine, the name we're giving her).  I'm not having much luck finding a cute costume.  I don't like the ones I see so far.  Might improvise with a black outfit and a little headband with cat ears.

I thought about dressing our older son up as a basketball player and this baby as a basketball [well, in a basketball onesie] since Halloween is right around the tip of NBA season. Need to think more about that though. DS#1 was nearly 11 months old for his first Halloween, so I have no experience dressing a baby either for the occasion...

I made a banana for DD when she was a baby. It was made out of brown & Yellow felt and it was actually made to look like the peel and then you put her in it. That makes no sense. Damnit. It was about 21/2 feet long and it was kind of like a box shaped like a banana. So, I dressed her in cream long johns and a knit cap and then put her inside of it, then pushed her around in her stroller. It was pretty awesome. I wish I had a pic.

All of your ideas are so cute! Now you got me brainstorming and searching the internet for something my LO can be! Too bad I live in the arctic tundra I call upstate NY and all costumes need to be 4 sizes too big so that a snow suit can fit under them. :-)

My oldest was three months old her first Halloween and she was a butterfly. I want to do something like that for the baby. It's pretty chilly at night during Halloween time, so it has to be something warm. And of course cute

I have a pumpkin bunting bag type costume, that I got on clearance last halloween (for $1!) Good for a boy or girl, and it tends to be cooler here that time of year.  DH is taking the older boys trick or treating, and me and LO will stay here to hand out candy!

We're doing the football player and football too.  I saw the pic on pinterest and found this lady on Etsy who makes a football bunting and hat.  We got it in the mail a few days ago and it's awesome!  I figured I could use it as a newborn prop and as a halloween costume.  We'll put DS #1 in his Lion's jersey he had last fall (hope it still fits!).
