and are even willing to wait 42 weeks etc for baby to come on their own.
obviously the induction makes you more worried than a big baby?
i dont necessarily WANT to be induced but DD just made it out with the vaccuum at at even 8 lbs and i dont think i could handle anything bigger...
and if the measurements are right, this baby is 8 lbs this week and 9 lbs if he stays in 2-3 more weeks....
Re: those who want to avoid induction...
I really, REALLY wanted to avoid an induction. I hated the thought of pitocin. But, at 40+5 my dr. made a pretty strong case for induction. DD was 8lbs 7oz and this baby was shaping up to be even bigger. The induction went on for 16 hours with no progress (and very little pain actually) until my dr. decided it was time to break my water. DS arrived at a very chunky 8lbs 13oz soon after. I'm kinda glad now that I didn't wait until 42 weeks. Goodness knows how big he would have been by then!
