do you ever email after an interview w/ more questions?

I know ppl offer it up at the end of interviews (email or call me if you have any questions) but would it be appropriate to actually do it? I have  2nd interview to be scheduled but it is w/ different ppl than the supervisor. My main follow up questions are regarding making sure that my interpretation of the role is correct, eg confirming that the role is x% responsibility A, y% responsibility B, z% responsibility C and also that travel would likely be 2-3 weeks per year for X reason.

Is that appropriate, would you do this?

  • I would call the contact in HR and let them know you have a few follow up questions for the supervisor and ask if they could call you so you can talk for a few minutes or if email is a better way to communicate.  If they tell you to email, then do that.

  • I would probably wait for a second interview or an offer to ask questions like that.

I was thinking that except I don't think I'll be meeting the supervisor again, it would be a person in a different dept as well as a couple other members of hte team who have different roles & probably would not know how the job actually breaks down...she handed me her card & told me to call or email if I had any questions which is why I was thinking that but I think I'll wait & if 2nd interview goes well then I will ask for clarification to make sure we're all on the same page.

  • I think it's fine to do it, and I've done it in the past (and eventually received a job offer). You can wait to bring it up at the next interview; however, if the answers to the questions may keep you from wanting the position, it might be better to know that now.

Yeah, I just want to make sure I'm clear on it & also so MH and I can talk about it b/c some of it will affect our family & consideration of the position in that area.
