Blended Families

Where can I find interracial children books?

Hi All,

I'm a little over 7 weeks pregnant and one of my fondest memories of my childhood is reading. Going to my room, picking several books off the shelf and reading was how I spent my time - oh yeah and Barbie's. I'm building my babies library so he/she can have the reading resources at a young age. My husband is Guatemalan and Ecuadorian and I'm African American. I've found so many interracial books recognizing African American and Caucasian families but not the hispanic mix.

Can anyone recommend books or book stores that would carry these types of books?

Thanks!

  • You can find some on amazon. My 2 youngest are half african American and half white. I bought a sesame street book on people looking different. My 5 yr old just recently started commenting on skin color. He is a minority in this very white area. *** FYI this board is really geared for blending of families by marriage. Stepparent issues etc.. You're welcome to post here ( I'm not the police) but you may not get lots of feedback.

  • My DS lives The Family Book by Todd Parr, it is about how All families are different and mentions different colors an step-families but also talks about same-sex, hopefully that would be appealing to you but I know if would scare off some.
