Well, I have to say that we are in our first trimester and are thrilled since we tried for four years straight to have another child. My first is now 7 and over the moon at the idea of having a sibling.
So, here's the question(s):
I'm paranoid to have sex right now. I've been cramping since the beginning of the month and am only about 6 weeks along. I haven't been to the doc yet so I don't know what to think.
I have had wicked heartburn already. I know part of this is due to the acid reflex issue. What types of foods can I eat to avoid this??
Thanks!!
Re: Just another question..
I've been told cramping is normal and as long as there is no blood I would be ok.
I was ok'd for sex, just don't feel like having much with the nausea and all that fun stuff. I imagine as long as you don't do any crazy acrobatic type sexyness then all should be find.
I had heartburn non stop with my first. I just carried TUMS with me everywhere. Ate them like candy. Yay for calcium! Most DRs will also OK certain heartburn medicines.
I'd give them a call and have them give you a list of things they consider OK. Every DR is different so any advice we give you here, could be completely opposite of what your doc wants. In the end, its really whatever you're comfortable doing with your body and baby
Enjoy sexy time...and congrats!
I too have been cramping (about five weeks along). As of late I've been *ahem* very interested in sex
From what I've been told as long as there is no blood you're in the clear.
No help on the heart burn though sorry. Tums?

Sex is totally fine and safe during pregnancy unless you have a condition and your doctor tells you to avoid it. However, if you don't feel comfortable, just don't do it.
As for heartburn... I had it real bad with DD and learned quickly that I had to avoid cheese and bread, which was terrible because I always wanted a bagel and cream cheese! I lived on tums and drank a lot of milk. Typically with heartburn you stay away from dairy and spicy/acidic foods.
Thank you!! I am just so afraid that having sex would cause me to lose the baby and we've tried so hard just to get pregnant. I was about to throw the towel in and say to heck with it. I have to make an appt. tomorrow so I'll try to write everything down. Congrats on your miracle
