Are there any people who actually think carpeting in bathrooms is not gross? What the hell do you do when/if the toilet overflows? I just don't understand why anyone would think to themselves, "Hmm you know what would be great in that place we sh.it and p.iss in? Carpet, that's what". It just seems extemely unsanitary.

I've never been in a bathroom with carpet....yep, yuck.
My mom and MIL both have carpeted bathrooms. It grosses me out so much. I just want to ask why they think it's a good idea. Rip that sh!t up. They sell self adhesive bathroom flooring that you can cut to fit around sinks and sh!t for less than a dollar per tile.
I just don't get it. It shall remain one of lifes mysteries.
When we bought our house it had carpet in the kitchen. It was so stained and angeles like grease. It was almost a deal breaker for me, but dh assured me the kitchen was the first roomto be remodeled. I had to work the day they demo'd the kitchen bc I couldn't stand the carpet.
I don't even like carpet in dining rooms, although I can deal with it, it just seems like a big bulls eye for stains, crumbs, and food.
Bathroom carpet, he!! to the no.
My MIL and FIL have these disgusting dogs that permeate odor wherever they go. You walk into either of their homes and it's like a wall of disgusting dog/wet dog slaps you in the face, and neither of them can smell it and get pissed off at the mention. It's nasty, and MIL seriously has no clue why her condo isn't selling over a year on the market...
I am a kitchen designer, people still ask for carpet in their kitchens and bathrooms. It tends to be the older crowd and I am able to reason with them and get them into an appropriate floor covering! They typically just want something softer than tile and never really thought of the nast that is in their carpeted kitchen until I point it out!
Carpet in a bathroom/kitchen is pure nasty. I also think dinning room (or where ever the main eating area is) can get pretty gross too but it just doesn't compare!
Our family business while I was growing up was carpeting/tile. I can't beleive how many times my dad tried talking people out of carpet in the kitchen/bathroom and they insisted on it. We often returned a few months later to replace it with something that made sense.
To be fair, melted crayon wax would have damaged ANY carpet. Not just ugly carpet.
I put mildly gross. That was the style in the 50s so if I was in an older person's house and there was carpet, I wouldn't think it was odd and I give them a pass.
However, if someone today purposely put carpet in the bathroom, yeah, thats odd and very gross.
The house we moved into 3 years ago had carpet in both bathrooms upstairs. We had a 1 y/o at the time that was soon to be potty training. That shiz got ripped right out and tile went down. I couldn't fathom why someone would put carpet in their bathroom.
Our neighbor said he likes his carpet in the bathroom b/c it's nice to step on carpet when you get out of the shower. Uh....wet carpet = mold. Also, he has two small boys. I can't even begin to imagine the amount of piss around his toilets.
