Parenting Styles

I need some advice or information on where to look to find info on parenting with two different styles. My husband and I were raised very differently and I'm worried that this is going to be a problem when it comes to parenting our kids. I suggested maybe taking a parenting class to help blend our ideas and attitudes. But that was denied and he thinks that we will be fine. How did everyone else over come different styles and attitudes or what would be your best advice.

Maybe reading some books from both perspectives? OM baby in camp hill has some parenting classes that you may want to look into for more info.
