constant eating

Does anyone else wanna eat all the time? I have already gained too much, b/c before I found out I was preggars, I ate all day! Crazy! I just feel hungry and I have been trying to eat more fruit, but what I really want is CHOCOLATE! I am trying to cut back b/c of the caffeine in chocolate, but it is tough. Any tips would be appreciated!

  • I was like this too, this time around, I had to constantly be eating or I felt sick.  And I too have already gained more weight then I should have.

    For me at least, that feeling went away.  Now, I am back to a regular diet and I find the more I am eating the more sick I feel.  So I am down to small meals.  Mostly cereal is all I can stomache right now.

  • I've been trying to have smaller meals, but more frequently. And I've been carrying a water bottle with me at all times just so I can constantly drink and hopefully curb my appetite. I just feel hungry every few hours and without crazy cravings yet I am trying to keep it simple... GL!

  • I noticed that my hunger has completely spiked in the last few days!  I'm starving and I just had lunch a couple hours ago.  I'm trying to counteract the hunger with really healthy snacks like fruits, veggies and nuts.  However, I will say a big bowl of ice cream sounds darn good right now.

  • I haven't had much of an appetite this time.  I'm sure it will come back, however.  I gained about 40 pounds with DS and getting it off SUCKED.  Yeah, not everyone loses weight easily while breastfeeding. I'm fairly close to my pre-preg weight now (and have lost weight since my BFP) but being chunky for a year is motivation not to gain that much again.  You need 300 extra calories a day MAX (like an apple and glass of milk).  Anything beyond that isn't good for either of you.  GL!

  • I was like this in the first tri with LO#1.  With this one I'm lucky if I'm in the mood to eat!

  • Thanks everyone! I have done much better today with not over eating. I have been eating more fruit and veggies.

    I'm having the same thing. I swear, I eat every hour, and nothing fills me up. I'm not having any crazy cravings for bad foods, and I'm trying to eat small, healthy things, but all I can seem to stomach are carbs. Forget meats and vegetables. It's getting to the point where it's annoying. I wake up like every hour with a gnawing pain in my stomach that hardly goes away, even when I eat. I've already gained 4 pounds (which I'm telling myself is partly water weight because I'm SO bloated).  I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone, though! Hopefully this will pass soon!
