How early can you have a regular u/s, as opposed to having to have an internal one?

I have had them as early as 6 weeks and 2 days.

I had an internal one at 6 and 9 weeks, regular at 11 weeks.

I think it depends on your OB a little. It's probably easier for them to do an internal at the first one incase you're measuring off from your LMP EDD.

My OB is having me drink a ton of fluid about an hour before my ultrasound so she can do an external. Of course, if I have to pee, I'm going to pee, so she may have to do an internal. My first ultrasound will be a little after 7 weeks.

I think it depends on the person.  I won't have a regular until 12 weeks.
