Cloth Diapering

Rate my stash - FTM here! :)

Ok, so here is my stash. My husband said to me today "wow, it seems like we have so many of these diaper things" so I figured I would ask you experienced moms out there if I'm good to go. The goal is to wash every other day, have a mix of prefolds/pockets and AIO's for hubby and I to test out and see what we like the most. I got a lot of these diapers in sets and most were already used so I didn't spend a *ton*.

Newborn stage: (along with this we have newborn sposies from our shower that we are going to incorporate in this mix until gone).

7 KLO

2 infant GMD workhorses

1 Alvababy newborn AIO

20 GMD Orange prefolds

2 Infant Orange Diaper Co Prefolds

2 newborn workhorses

2 one size Bumpkins covers

2 XS Thirsties Cover

1 S Bummi cover

After newborn stage:

2 Toddler Orange Diaper Co prefolds

6 Osocosy Infant prefolds

2 2.0 Simplex AIO

12 BG 4.0 pockets (mix of snaps/aplix)

6 Flips (Mix of snaps/Aplix)

1 Rumparooz

2 Fuzzibunz

1 Imagine Pocket (It came in a set - I don't know what "size" it is..haha)

1 Medium Knicker Nappies (from set)

 4 Alva Baby Pocket Diapers

3 Goodmama OS Fitteds

 Accessories:

3 Snappies

30 Cloth wipes + Baby bum drops + spray bottles

8 Sample pack of CJ's butter (till I find smell I like)

2 Large & 1 small wet bags (don't have room for a pail - will hang bag on wall)

Diaper sprayer  - will get later

6 Fleece liners

6 hemp doublers

1 roll of disposable liners

Is this good? Will this hit the goal of the every other day wash?

  • Wow....now that I posted that it really does look like a heck of a lot! hahah!
  • To summarize, you have 9 little fitteds, 1aio, 22 prefold and 5 covers for newborn stage. And 22 pockets/AIO, 6 covers, 8 prefolds, 3 OS fitteds for post-newborn.

If you using some disposable for newborn that should be fine. You may want some more prefolds and covers for that stage after you run out of disposables.  But I would wait and see where your baby is in size at that time before you buy more.

Post-newborn you should be great. You can use those newborn prefolds trifolded in the flip covers for a long time. I'm still using some infant prefolds trifolded and DD is 13 months and 25 pounds.

  • You might want a NB size Bummis in addition to the small. I'm guessing you only have one because you're testing it out and that's fine. Maybe you just want to wait until baby grows into it. However, my children are on the larger size and they both started in the NB. The small lasted from 2 months-6 months or so. With my daughter (9lbs at birth) I probably could have gotten away with the small from about 1 month or so, but not at birth.
