I could not have had a better appointment this am. I LOVED the doc - totally personable and informative. He had a young woman resident in who picked up right away that I had some sort of science/med background - so it was nice to be treated like I am capable of comprehending what's being said. It was sort of neat to be there for her "training", because I got some additional detail about my internal anatomy that I wouldn't have otherwise had.
I was a bit surprised how LONG the NT scan was - wow, talk about thorough!
But, in the end, he said that the baby looks great. He didn't see any need to move forward with any further blood tests, etc as nothing was notably of concern to him. He gave me much better information & explanation of the physiology of the GD & the med interactions than I had last time.He was impressed with how low I've gotten my sugars so quickly. He was fairly sure I'll have to take the meds (glyburide) again, but I feel so much more at ease about it now. He said he'd be happy to do the a/s in 7 wks, but he's fairly confident that I don't need to see him again if I don't want to.
And, lo is measuring to the day of where expected - I could not believe how much rolling and turning he/she was doing.
Tonight, I'm a much happier mama.
