1st Trimester

Almost constant quesiness anyone?

New symptom for me- constant queasiness. It's not that bad. I don't feel like I need to go grab a toilet. I just feel "woosy" like I have a hangover almost. I'm about 7 weeks and this just popped up this week. I'm trying to figure out what makes it better, but so far only being flat on the cuch seems to do it. That doesn't work 24/7. What are your tricks?

  • I eat all day long.  If that doesn't help, I make myself throw up, it makes a huge difference.

yeah.  I found if I just throw up when the bad nausea first hits, it goes away.  Why be nauseous for 4 hours, and end up throwing up, no matter how hard I fight it

And to clarify, I wasn't shoving my finger down my throat or anything, just sort of didn't  fight nature.

  • The things that help me are having something to snack on (like crackers or fruit, preferably in small pieces and eaten slowly to keep from eating a million calories!) throughout the day. Also make sure you're drinking enough for me being dehydrated makes it way worse.

I've also had some luck with sucking on sour hard candy (sour jolly ranchers work best for me) but don't like the idea of eating all that sugar...

  • I've had really bad m/s this week and what has helped me is eating a little bit every hour.  I always have crackers with me or a bag of cheerios and munch on them when I start to feel sick.  I've found that drinking sparkling water and sucking on mints have helped too.  Good luck!

  • like the other ladies i eat all day.  i have to eat every hour to 90min. usually carbs.  i was nervous about gaining extra weight, but that doesnt seem to be happening so far have not gained anything.

i wish i could tell you it gets better, i have been sick for about 4 weeks.  im hoping its over in the 2nd tri.

when i feel a little better the heartburn kicks in, im not sure whats worse

  • This is my fourth pregnancy- and it's been a little different each time. I've never had full-on m/s, but would more describe it as a sour stomach. Keeping hydrated definitely helps, but dairy products work best for me- in small portions. Cottage cheese, milk, or even a small 8-10oz milkshake. (That's been my dinner 3 of the last 4 nights.) Right now I can't handle spices, meat, or sweets- so just go with what works and what you can tolerate.

In my experience, the minute you cross over into your 2nd Tri- everything changes back to somewhat normal. Your favorite clothes just don't fit as well.

  • I was like that from about week 5 to the end of week 7. Week 8 is pretty good so far! I hope it goes away soon for you too. What also works well for me is eating more and drinking more water. Honestly, this might sound horrible, but I felt the best when I woke up to pancakes my husband brought me, and ate just one. That one pancake changed my life... or my day.
