Friday Fluff

If you had two hours completely to yourself - no errands, no DP, no kids, no pets, no responsibility - what would you do?

Re: Friday Fluff

  • Read, laying outside on a blanket. Or cook something really yummy and involved.

  • - coffee shop, big comfy chair, book + latte

    or

    - pedi and a little retail therapy

    or

    - take myself out to a long, leisurely dinner at a restaurant I would never dare take the kids into

    or

    - see a movie

Can you tell I daydream about this often?? lol

  • Big chair in a bookstore with a fun coffee drink and a stack of magazines/books that I am too cheap to buy. I used to do this all of the time pre kids and I miss it.

  • pedi for sure. I could skip the book because I read at work a lot. Maybe a nap? Seriously though I would rather take the two hours without any distractons except DW Wink

  • My first thought was pedi, but Jelly Bean usually goes with me to those and does fine so I'll rethink this because I wouldn't want to waste the two hours on things I can do just fine with her.......well at this moment I think I would want K and JB to leave the house so that I could sit on the couch and watch all my crappy tv shows that have been on the DVR for months.  Yes, that's what I want. :-)

  • Kick back and watch some fun TV:  Friends, The Office, Big Bang, and just be mindless for a couple hours.

A pedi would also be amazing. :)

  • I would get a massage and go to the casino.  I love bingo and slots, but we haven't gone since before Mel was pregnant.

  • Of course I do get time without E (when she goes to her dad's), but I rarely take advantage of that time for just me, it's usually chores, errands, etc. If I did put those things aside it would be to read a book or watch one of the movies I have on Net.flix that I never seem to have time to watch.

  • i miss my walks in the redwoods and on the beach where i could tide pool without interputions.  But like most of you, I really miss the bookstore/coffeeshop with a book/sketch pad.

Well, I'm still in the no kids club, but I used to have every Wednesday and Friday night to myself while C did karate, and I miss it.  I would read, fix myself things C doesn't consider dinner (baked eggs and a salad, mmmmm), sometimes go for a pedi or do an at home "night of beauty", and watch TV that only I like.

This reminds me of the Sex and the City episode about "secret single person behavior" that you have to hide when you are in a relationship.  At some point, C and I both realized that we both consider chips and guacamole or salsa a totally reasonable dinner once in a while.  I breathed a huge sigh of relief, lol.

Also, this thread makes me want to skip C's work happy hour and go have a night to myself!

well if i was single... and had 2 hours it would prolly be chasing/hitting some tail ( sorry i'm a pig at heart )

but ... if it was just 2 hours  to myself in my given situation ... pedicure and a cold cool nice nap with white sheets and a fluffy comforter ( vacation style)

  • This is a tough one... so many things run through my mind.  I would have to say a couple hours at the spa.  I used to do that once a month when I was single and I have done it probably a handful of times since M and I have been together.

Or just a couple of hours of quiet time to myself.  Sitting on the couch with a book and no TV.

  • Definitely the spa. A massage and a facial, then time in the steam room. This was a budgetless dream, right?

  • Hammock + novel + iced coffee.

I'm currently reading Game of Thrones, 1/2 a page at a time while standing in the kitchen eating a handful of nuts or other fast energy. It's 800 pages long, so I should be done with it by the time the babies start kindergarten.

This seriously amuses me, and reminds me of us.  B went on a work trip (very rare) a few weeks ago, and we stocked me up on "bachelor" food before she left.  Pizza rolls and eggs on toast, dinners of champions!  Not that I'm not perfectly capable of cooking...but these are fun fake "single" foods!
