FFFC

I was mixing avocados with my hand blender on Tuesday and wound up in the ER with 21 stitches on my pointer finger.  Somehow I threw all common sense out the window, reached behind the blade to dislodge a clump, hit the start button at the same time...and I won't go into the gross details of what happened next.  I'm more embarassed and mad at myself for doing such a stupid thing than anything else. Sad

Stuff like this just happens sometimes! When I worked at DQ as a teenager, one of the girls didn't tie her hair up like we were supposed too. She was making a blizzard, turned her head to respond to a customer and her hair got caught in the rotating shaft! I can't imagine how horrible she must have felt.

  • OhEmmGee... OUCH!!!

I've managed to hurt myself everytime I've made baby food so far. Just not to that extent!

I've pinched a finger between the blender jar and base a couple times and burned myself on my steamer once. Maybe I should throw in the towel and stick to store-bought.. the universe may be trying to tell me something!

But I know my baby could still wake up and its so much easier to whip out a boob than have to go downstairs to prepare a bottle. Also. I'm sick of wearing a bra and boob pads allthetime. I rock my LO to sleep every night. All my family and friends keep telling me I need to let her CIO so she can learn to self-soothe. She's a great sleeper and I haven't had any problems with her sleeping so I lie now tell them that I put her down and she falls asleep on her own because I don't want to hear them tell me what to do anymore. The truth is I will probably rock her to sleep every night until she's too big to fit on my lap lol. I just love that time we have together before she falls asleep and I don't want to give it up...

    To make you feel better...

A few weeks ago I was curling my hair, and wanted to make it really curly, so I was using a small barrel and was curling chunks in opposing directions (which is not what I normally do, so it was awkward to me) I ended up burning my ear, then when I was attempting to dislodge the barrel I burned it AGAIN, in the same spot. The side of my ear was horribly burned. I couldn't wear my hair up for two weeks. You'd think I was a teenager learning to use the damn thing!!

My FFFC- the past week I have been really lazy and right before DH gets home I do a really quick pick up of the house and make it look like I did something all day. Then I would tell him DS was really fussy and I couldn't get much done today... He thinks DS must be teething since he's been so fussy lately!

  • I put my little guy in the bumbo on the counter when i am doing dishes.  He likes to be in on the action.  I dont care if people dont like it.  He is needy right now and I want him near me.

Another one, i dont feed him solids usually more than once a day.  I feel like I should but its so messy and a hassle.  I know eventually I will have to make him a veggie, fruit and others for a meal and just dont want the hassle until he is older.

  • I hate onesies. I hate putting them over LO's head, taking them off and when the leg holes show over his pants (baby thong line).

    also:

We are house hunting and because we are so ready to own our own home I have zero motivation to clean our apartment. It needs to be swept so bad but I don't feel like it. (not dirty, just messy).

I agree with alove4chevys, I started solids this week and it is a pita already. I now want to bf as long as possible it's so much easier to just stick a boob in DD's mouth and be done...

My fffc, I still wear my maternity jeans/pants all the time, not because I can't squeeze into my regular ones...I find my maternity ones so much more comfortable. I have seriously contemplated buying more.

LOL on the maternity pants, I never found any that fit me right.  They were always saggy in the butt and I felt like I had a load in there lol.

As far as solids, I do think it helps them learn to use their hands and other things but dangit if it isnt inconvenient!  I dread the day no more just pop a bottle in and making sure he eats every meal and snacks.  That requires alot more thought!  Oh well that is how it works. :)

  • I hate feeding solids too.  So much work.  When I look back on this period with DD I realize that I kind of halfassedly did purees until she was old enough for finger foods, and there were a lot of Gerber puffs and Cheerios for a while, and she turned out okay, so whatevs.  Both my kids have hit the solid food phase in the summer, when our travel plans make it difficult to do any sort of sustained feeding program.

Haha me too! Pre-pregnancy I liked everything to fit really tight so I had most of my work pants tailored to fit me like a glove and they are ridiculously uncomfortable to me now. I have to wear normal jeans now though, DH caught me changing out of mat jeans the other day and gave me a really hard time haha.

LOL mine is similar, althogh we have tried our LO on many differnt foods, invariably he gets rice puffs and apple slices during the day if he is lucky (often I don't have time/forget), and strawberry baby food at night (he loves the strawberry I swear it will be is first word). I have no imagination so he gets the same thing al the time, I know I should give him more varietybut it is so easy to stick rice puffs on the tray and let him go nuts.

This exactly!!!  I had to supplement in the first few months and he has been STTN since week 8. I stopped giving him his 2 bottles of formula every night around 3 1/2 months and his sleep pattern didnt change at all. If anything it got better with longer stretches as he got older.

I do the same thing all the time. I'm also guilty of rocking/nursing to sleep 100% of the time and holding her for all of her naps (because our summer weekends are so busy, I've been procrastinating on nap training until we get a good stretch of time at home). She STTN so at least my bad habits haven't affected her nighttime sleep.

Our dogs are part of our family and we like to take them everywhere we go. And bc we have so many its sometimes hard to do things like go on long weekends to the beach or camping.
Bc we usually go with friends and not everyone wants the dogs around and we cant find someone (dont want to put it on someone) to watch them.
And its frustrating that friends are ok with just telling us to leave our dogs home bc thats what they do. And we def cant aford to board them every other week and honestly... I like bringing our girls with us and would hate to board them.

The only thing I don't like about solids is when H does a crappy shot of wiping C down afterwards. And by crappy, I mean I'm finding bits of breakfast between his fingers at 5PM. It's gross.
