Freaking out even more!!

Yesterday I posted about doing a phone interview for a teaching position and I'm happy to report that they want me to come in for an in-person interview next week!! 

But wait...there's more!! While I was stressing out hoping the principal would call this morning I got an email from another district I applied to and they want me to come in next week for an interview too!! I scrambled to change my plane ticket and now I'm freaking out to try to get my head around packing for our trip (just me and DS) and getting through this weekend with my ILs. I also have to prepare a short lesson and that is stressing me out! I haven't really taught since February so I need to get in teaching mode quick!

Anyone recently interview for a teaching position? It's been 4 years for me and I don't know what kind of questions to expect! Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers! They are working!!

Good luck! I'm jealous@! We decided I'd SAH for now, but I am itching to teach!

 

Just remember they're looking for an idealistic answer, not a realistic one. You can't go wrong with always saying the kids come first! good luck!

Questions/things to be ready to discuss:

-Your vision for learning

-How you handle discipline in general and how you approach a crisis situation

-experience with balanced literacy and/or centers (in both ELA and math)

-How you connect with families and the community

-How you approach planning and/or collaboratively planning with a team

-what goals you have had for students in the past and where your results measured up to those goals

-what have you done to problem solve and implement solutions when goals may have been falling short

-what do you wish someone would have told you in your first year of teaching?
