I went in for a scheduled induction on 06/05/2012 at 11pm. they started me on cervidil(spelling?) plan was I was going to get one gel wait na hour and then walk for an hour and to repeat 2 more times. as it turned out my placenta was older then my dr thought and was not providing enough oxygen to ava so I had to stay attached to the monitors in bed. we started the pitocin at 5 am. at 7 am when the dr came to check me I was 2cm dialated and he said he was going to break my water to move things along. after he broke my water I really started feeling the contractions. got my epidural about 11am and just in time. dr came to check me on his lunch break and said I progressed to about 4 cm dialated and that were going to have a baby at 7pm. I laughed at him. as it turns out he was right the baby was ready to start coming at 645pm. he said I had alot of pushing to do and did an emergency c/section with another physician while I pushed. finally at 946pm ava was born on 06/06/2012 weighing in at 9lb 1oz and 21 in long. I had an amazing birth experiene besides the fact it was so long. I had amazing care one on one with both my night nurse and day nurse. it was funny cause my dr wanted my husband to come see the head to help encourage me and I started arguing that he didnt need to see there at that moment the funny things we say and do while in labor.
