how to entertain a rolling baby?

Alex is rolling back to front whenever laying down. He gets stuck on his belyy and cries until we roll him back. How do i lay him down so he will still play and not just get stuck? I put him in the excersaucer for a few minutes but He likes to lay down. What are the other moms of Rolie Polies doing?

ps- I do play with him and tickle his belly.

My LO was doing this at night and screaming!  We spent one night flipping him over 5 times.  It was pointless because he kept rolling the minute we would flip him.  My pedi told us to stop and he would figure it out on his own.  He still doesn't roll back to belly but he is now sleeping on his belly.  We had to let him cry a little but now he prefers sleeping on his stomach.  It's so hard when they learn new things as get frustrated.

Do you have some kind of play gym with toys that hang above him? Now that DS has better control of his hands he can grab toys and will be entertained by them hanging in front of him for awhile. He also rolls back to belly and then gets upset when he's stuck there. The toys seem to distract him enough that he won't roll right away.

My baby is doing the same thing! We have a play gym but he only stays on his back for so long.

I would put toys he likes on the floor near him.  When he ends up on his tummy, he'll have something to keep his interest.  Also try a mirror (soft, non-breakable is best) so that when he rolls over, he can see himself.  This will encourage him for tummy time and have him practice holding his head up.  Eventually, this will help him figure out how to roll from tummy to back (Ben started that by just kind of letting his head go first and pull the rest of him over!).
