My daughter is having her first surgery on the 22nd to repair her lip and nose (bilateral cleft lip and palate). I am super nervous but also anxious to have it finally done. My biggest concern other than the surgery itself is how to deal once her obdurator (mouthpeice) is gone. She won't sleep without it now, and I feel like this may be a huge challenge for us to get her comfortable when she is already not feeling 100%.
Now that I typed that, I feel like I may barf.
Does anyone have any words of wisdom? Tricks? Tips? Valium?
