Self-tanner???

Do you guys use self-tanner?

 I have been using the lotions pretty regularly since I have basically avoiding the sun.  I read online that it was safe since the ingredient used is basically a dye and does not penetrate deep enough to reach circulation.  Now in FitPregnancy this month it is saying it is not safe due to the active ingredient. 

What have you guys heard?  I use Jergen's lotion, the kind that deepens gradually.  Do you use any of the stuff or spray tan???

    I don't know if it is safe or not, but I can't find any reason I'd want to directly spray my body with chemicals, pregnant or not.  If they don't want you to dye your hair (at least during first tri) I wouldn't think you should dye your skin either.  Just my thoughts though...

    I've read that its not advised to get a spray tan during pregnancy due to the chemicals.  The self tanner that you buy maybe less potent though and be ok (and the gradual tan by Jergens is probably even weaker than a standard at home tan)

    I always thought it was ok to use spray tanners and get air brush tans and I used them last pregnancy, but now my Dr.'s FAQ packet says to avoid spray tans and lotions.  Then there was this news story just recently, https://abcnews.go.com/Health/safety-popular-spray-tans-question-protected/story?id=16542918#.T9tmO7W7LIU, so now I don't think I'll be using either anymore.

    I am a big label reader/analyzer and there's one by Banana Boat that's probably the safest if this is something you want to do. It's paraben, phthalate, etc. free...
