~~ZERO SPERM / AZOOSPERMIA CHECK IN~~

This is a place for any of you who are experiencing the world of azoospermia.  Whether you were recently diagnosed and are trying to make sense of it all, or you have started preparing for IVF or IUI, or have decided instead to move on to adoption.  Please join in the group by posting! Check in is on Wednesdays.

Learning that the chances of having a biological child with your husband are slim to none is not easy, and is, frankly, devastating news.  This check in is a place where we can share how we are coping (or not) with our new realities, provide information we've learned through investigating our options, adjusting our lifelong dreams and plans, and dealing with the situation.  

I'd like to also extend an invitation to those with Azoo dx who have been fortunate enough to experience pregnancy, childbirth, and/or adoption.  Ultimately, all of us desire to create a family.  The experiences and insight of those who have reached that goal will be quite helpful to those of us on that road.

Update: We have a good number of follies growing. I have another monitoring appt tomorrow. 

QOTW: We got married at my families church and had a reception in my parents back yard! It was magical. My colors were burgundy and champagne. So my mom and I didn't fight about any wedding stuff except the cake. I wanted non-traditional desserts, my mom wanted a traditional cake. we fought like crazy about it a few times. We finally settled on a small cake assortment with one white small traditional 2 tiered white strawberry short-cake with a topper to cut. Before the cake cutting my mom came over to me looking like she was about to cry and told me that someone had EATEN ALL THE STRAWBERRIES OFF OUR CAKE!! It was a white cake with red divots all over it. She thought I was going to freak out and I just started cracking up. It was such irony! I put the topper in another cake and we cut that one. But it makes for a good story.

Hello Everyone, no new updates.  We go for our third SA next week and are hoping for some sperm to freeze for IVF.  : )  My DH is getting used to the shots and no longer laughs hysterically whenever I come near him with the syringes.

Where did you get married?

We got married at a church in my hometown and our reception was at a forest nearby where we used to go hiking when we lived there.

What were your colors?

Our colors were green, brown, and pink (not like a watermelon).

What is a funny story from your wedding?

The funniest thing at our wedding was my husbands grandmother taking Jell-O shots, LOL!  Classy, I know.  My sister's friend brought them.

Still trucking along on my DHEA. Pretty used to the acne now. Found out this week that will be able to cycle as soon as I have a CD1 after July 20 - likely mid-August. DH continues on his FSH & hCG in the meantime but after 15 months is starting to get worn out. Our puppy has been sick this week and that's leading to a lot of stress and tears.

 We got married in DH's hometown at his family church and the reception was at the local firehall. Our main colour was purple with some black, white, and green. In terms of funny stories....maybe DH's cousin trying to pick up my sister with some chicken wing dance moves???

as for update for us...there is none, working on the clomid and some vitamins, in two months we will go back for more blood results and repeat SA, and we are looking into embryo adoption/donation as a very near possibility. We meet with our RE next week to discuss what kinds of tests they need to still run on me and we will also get all the details of the embryo adoption/donation.

What is a funny story from your wedding? it POURED up until literally 6 minutes before our ceremony and then the sun came out and then a double rainbow came out just long enough to get through our ceremony and pictures...then my ring barrier literally ran down the aisle to my husband and got mad when his mom  told it was time to sit down. it was adorable

Update:  Took my last bcp today.  Still on Lupron and will start stims late next week.

QOTW:  We got married in a lawyers office and then had another ceremony at a reception hall.  Our colors were red with touches of pink (think cherry blossoms in the spring).  We joke that we have two anniversaries.  No funny stories, but still one we'll never forget.  We had our wedding planned for April 4th.  Had 10+ months of planning, sent out invites, received rsvps, and were a month away from the big day.  Then DH was dx with cancer 3 weeks prior.  The day the Uro said it was a 99% chance of cancer, we rushed to the courthouse, filed out application, and were married the day after the waiting period, which happened to be on St. Patty's Day and 1 day after his first surgery.  We then had an informal ceremony and our planned reception on April 4th.

Update: Waiting for beta tomorrow.  Trying to get excited, but honestly I'm scared because the last time I saw a "+" it didn't end well.  I need to snap out of it.

QOTD:  We got married at the church DH's parents had been going to for ages.  Our reception was a tented event at an old mansion.  I did a ton of DIY projects for the wedding and loved it!

Our colors were brown and light blue.  People were surprised there wasn't any white in our wedding cake - but this was more our style.

As for funny story.  I was expecting my husbands friends to play some prank at our wedding, because, well, everyone's wedding got some type of prank.  My husband is a huge Patriots fan.  We were married in the year that they had the perfect record during the season, and lost the Superbowl.  I'll be the first to say he had been annoying that year, talking smack about the Giants (one of his friends is a huge Giants fan). My husband was at the superbowl, in the endzone where the fateful touchdown was scored.  He was devestated.  Fast forward to our wedding, 3 1/2 months later.  Towards the end of the night, when everyone was nice and liquored up, his friends circled around him all of a sudden, and ripped open their tux shirts to this:

My husband was not amused.  I laughed so hard!  Serves him right for being such a smarta$$ during the season.  Oh and the guy to the right is not my husband, just one of his Boston friends

Congrats to all the BFPs.  I feel bad I haven't been keeping up with the board lately.  Now that it is summer, I hope to participate more. 

I had my SIS and was fine.  I haven't heard anything from my CCT so I'm assuming it was still a good number.  I'm sure we will have a sit down in a few weeks.  I'm waiting for AF next week, then I will go for CD 21 BW and start EP.  I should be stimming late July and have ER the first week in August.  Fingers crossed! 

QOTW:  We got married in a little church with lots of character.  My colors were red with silver accents.  The florist sent the wrong color rose petals to toss.  My brother started picking out all the red ones because he thought I would be pissed.  I didn't care, I just told my mom to call the florist so we could get money back.  She was glad we called because they sent the wrong box and those were for an evening wedding.  That bride would have been livid with my red petals!  She was a bridezilla and I only met her at the florist once! So the florist came and switched them out.

We are multi-faith and multicultural so our wedding was very unique.  We had a church wedding for his family and a Jewish ceremony in the hotel where our reception was held for my family.  We had mainly red and gold colors for DH's Chinese heritage.  I wish I had a funny story but it was an amazing day and everyone loved it!!!

I hate to be a downer, but I def got a BFN. I'm on to my next IVF cycle in july/august.

dIUI #3 is a BFN too. We're going to do dIUI #4 with injectibles this cycle since Clomid sent me right off the sanity reservation. I'm bummed that it's not working. We also have to order more sperm so we're going to try a different donor next round.

I got married at a really pretty golf club on the first tee.

At the end of our wedding DH's drunk uncle tried to shove a bouquet of flowers down the front of my mom's dress while declaring her DRUNK! (mom doesn't drink..). The next day at brunch he had sun glasses on and when we asked how he was feeling he groaned that he was "broken" :op
