Vatanai or ellevill Zara for a summer wrap

So I'm thinking about getting a light weight to medium weight wrap.  Does anyone have any experience with both a vat and a Zara (or experience with just one)?  How do they compare?  Anyone tried the Zara silk or linen blend (these are quite a bit more expensive though...)?  I'm fairly new to wrapping.

  • I have never owned a Vat.

I have a cotton Zara and LOVE it. I find it easy to warp with because it is grippy, but many people do not like that at all. It's light and I used it in the summer, although if you do layered warp it could get hot. I loved it for a double hammock - it was my goto wrap for a long time.

Now that LO is older and will pretty much only be carried in a ruck, I have switched to a linen cotton shorty.

  • I have a Zara She & love it. I used it a ton last summer - even in 100+ degree heat.

  • This comes up a ton on my local babywearing group and didy waves is a common rec, they are pretty lightweight and great for the summer. I have one and love it!
  • They're good for two different types of carries, in my opinion.  In the Texas heat I prefer a grippier wrap with a single layer carry (like a ruck) so Ellevill Zara wins hands down.

For multi-layer carries (like a Double Hammock) I like a thinner wrap that slides on itself more easily, so Vats win.
