I had a friend tell me today that weight loss COULD be a sign of impending labor.
Did any of you find this true? How far in 'advance' did you notice it?
I had my 38 week appointment today, and have lost 3 lbs since last week (this is the only time I've lost weight this pregnancy... Ive always gained at least a little something). I was also about 1 cm and 40% effaced (although, again, I know this could mean nothing is coming soon).
Just curious!! Can't wait to hold my babe!!
Re: Weight loss before labor?
Well, I've certainly haven't lost any weight and haven't heard of it being indicator. Of course when you're 37+ weeks pregnant, just about anything can be made an "indicator."
I lost 4lbs last week. Still pregnant and no sign of anything. I'm not putting much into it.
I feel like at this point, it's like those TTCers that look for every sign in the TWW that they're pregnant. Every twinge, every change in discharge, gaining weight, losing weight, breasts changing, appetite, activity level, etc. I'm purposely trying to ignore all of that and just keep an eye out for the big things. Like my water breaking or contractions. I'm not interested in spending the next 2-3 weeks in a constant state of is-this-it?
I lost 3 lbs one week, gained 5 lbs the next. Lost 3 lbs again the next week, and gained 2lbs this past week. My eating habits have been the same through all 4 weeks.
I'm sitting at 2-3 cm and 80%. Still nothing yet, and my EDD is tomorrow.
