November 2011 Moms

Ugh

So LO has been up since 5:30 this morning and finally settled down with his bottle at 8:45... he fell asleep in my arms. I was walking to put him down in his crib and DH yelled up the stairs for me to throw him down something. LO woke up and has been awake and crying since. I swear I'm gonna fuc*&ing punch him in his n*ts. That wil be our birth control. I haven't slept past 6 AM in the past 3 months and I finally get a chance for a nap and he ruins it. Grr

Re: Ugh

  • Frustrating. My pet peeve is when DH is putting DS to bed and his phone rings, which is obnoxiously loud anyway, and then proceeds to talk (read: basically shout) into the phone.

  • I have just come to terms that this is when LO gets up. I am up at 5:30 for work anyways so I guess it doesn't really matter. But I do know the feeling. Our dogs bark at everything, so I have resorted to locking them in our bedroom when LO is napping so they don't bark and wake him up (they are big dogs, 90 and 120 lbs, so the bark is pretty dang loud).

I'm the same way!  But it's not the bark that wakes DD up, it's the clinking of their collars as they walk around.  My dogs are always outside when it's bedtime!

OP, I know the feeling!  DH isn't allowed to talk when I'm putting DD to bed, or nursing, or anything that I want her to concentrate on.  She always gets distracted/wakes up when he starts talking!

Both the barking & collars will wake LO up! The dogs pretty much don't wear their collars unless we are going on a walk. Now when LO sleeps, his bedroom door is closed & the sound machine is now. That helps a ton!

  • Ugh, I HATE that! DH is one of those who likes to sit in one room and yell at people in another rather than getting off his butt and going to talk to them. It's a pet peeve anyway, but he wakes up LO almost every time, or if she's awake she starts crying. You would think he would have it figured out by now to knock it off!

  • So annoying.

Our dog likes to stop and do the head shake (flapping ears loudly, collar jingling) right outside of the baby's room while he's sleeping. Or right next to him wherever he may be napping. I swear he does it on purpose!

OMG- we have this same problem.  DD can sleep through barking, but this wakes her up!

  • Haha!  We dont have a dog....but every night when Im putting DS down the cat comes up to his room and meow's to say good night.  Of course DS loves the cat and so he wakes right up to look around for her and starts going nuts trying to get to her.

  • I don't have dogs but husband man goes to the hall bath and blows his nose REALLY loud without closing the door, of course, and wakes up LO. Dude really!
