Hi Ladies!
quick questions....I just received word that I have an appointment with a plastic surgeon to do a secondary biopsy/cut on a suspicious mole. They are going to be using a local anaestetic to freeze the area, and one google search i did said this can be linked to birth defects?? what should i do? (i am waiting for my doctors office to call back, but I am worried!).
Thanks!
Re: Please help! not sure what to do!
I would call the Drs office and advise them that you are now expecting. They may choose to do another alternative (such as a general anaesthesia) or have an anaesthesiologist come in and assist with it to reduce the risk of complications. They definitely need to know there is a baby on board - because then they can advise you on what's the best way forward. Hope everything goes well!
I just had two moles removed last week and one came back as pre-cancer. I have an appointment to have the rest of it cut out next week. My OB and the dermatologist agreed that using the litocain (sp?) is perfectly safe. I was worried but once I talked to my OB she assured me it was perfectly fine and she had seen it hundereds of times.
Don't worry:)
