VBAC

Nearly a repeat of post below...

My OB is pretty supportive. She has had an induced VBAC and is pregnant again. 38 weeks today and I'm soft and closed. Cervix is not really far back, though. She told me I could take EPO orally and bring it in next week and they'd apply it internally (I'll be starting internally tonight.). Her maternity leave starts on June 29. My EDD is June 26. She said if I'm favorable we can induce on the 27th when she's on call, but if I go past, probably none of the other doctors will induce. I'll be pretty much on my own until 42 weeks. Either go into labor on my own with all those risks of being over due, or section. I need to go into labor soon!

  • I don't know what's the best, but if I were you, I would definitely choose induction with your doctor.  You could regret waiting until longer with a doctor you don't prefer as much.  That's just my two cents.  Maybe you could still have VBAC with the induction.  Being induced didn't work for me, but maybe it would for you!

  • I have similar crazy timing issues.  It really sucks to add those worries to all the other VBAC fears and complications.  I have opted to have an induction a few days before my 41wk deadline, to make sure that my midwife can there.  I think I'm better off having a supportive provider to be there through the process.  And I am pretty favorable for an induction, so I hope it goes well.

Good luck with your decision.  I've said this over and over, but I don't understand why we have to fight so hard for something that is supposedly recommended by medical panels.
