Hemp inserts...

I received some Thirsties hemp inserts at my shower, but I don't have any pocket diapers in my stash. I might eventually I suppose, but we're starting with prefolds and fitteds. I know hemp can absorb more slowly... can I use the inserts without a pocket, like in a fitted as a doubler for nighttime? Would they need a wicking liner to work?

Or should I just exchange them for doublers?

Might not be a bad idea to keep them with a layer of fleece on top for overnight, but I don't think I'd just use hemp as a doubler on its own... but there are ladies who swear by hemp, so I think it depends on how heavy of a wetter you have

I'd try wrapping a hemp insert in a prefold for nighttime.
