From the "N00b"

I want to extend a genuine "I'm sorry" if I excluded anyone yesterday in my "N00b Fest" post. It was meant as a special interests board; nothing more, nothing less.

On the other hand I'm glad you all had fun with it. I get it: the bump = snark. Rainbow and unicorn-minded TTC'ers like myself don't do so hot here. However, I'm not one to quit something I started just because of pressure or if it suits me (or else I would have changed my ticker by now) and I'll take any flack anyone feels it is necessary to give me for just being me.
Just because I have never said anything negative about anyone's tickers, avatar, signature, or personal choices (like drinking pom) doesn't mean I endorse or appreciate any of those things, nor does it mean I expect reciprocal treament; you all can say and do what you like. If I got mad for everyone saying how they felt, I wouldn't have a right to express my own opinion. I am glad that there are many different people in the world and just as many ways to live and to be. Rock on, have a good week and GL to you all TTC.

Exactly this.  This board is what it is and the few people who don't like it aren't going to change it.  Either you can handle it and enjoy it while you are here or you can find another board more to your liking.  You aren't quitting anything.

Thats completely different. A picture that someone made of movie characters vs a picture of someones child is a poor comparison.

Having said this:

I only had one dissagreement, not every P&R person has troubles here. Snark and P&R can live in harmony, we balance each other, if done correctly. ::::runs out of posts, as I scream Unicorns freakin rock! GL OP, stay encouraged.

Sorry, *thread. Yes, please Bumpery 101.

1. community.thebump.com is a message forum. The different categories here like "Trying to Get Pregnant" or "C-sections" are called boards. When you click that little button at the top of the board you are making a new thread. When someone comments in said thread, it is called a post. You cannot create boards here because you are not a Bump God. You cannot stop anyone from commenting in a thread or saying whatever they want to you.

2. The bump has many boards that all have their own regs and personality

3. The bump's TTGP board =/= other TTC boards (babygaga, babycenter, etc). We're snarky. We're usually straight forward. We don't coddle people when they really just need to hear the truth. Yes, sometimes people get mean. Please know that snarky/being blunt/not blowing glitter and fog up someone's hooha =/= mean most of the time.

4. You are not the first butthurt newbie to try and change the tone of the board. It happens pretty much once a week. It won't change a damn thing. People are just going to dislike you even more.

5. After something blows up in your face. It's better to just pick up your ball and go home. If you decide to come back, having a huge AW post like this is just going to piss people off or have them respect you even less. You should have dropped it.

 

I'm sure there is more to bump 101, but these are the topics that I think you need a refresher in.

7. flashy and blinkie siggy's are annoying. Some of us bump from work and don't want attention drawn to our screens. Some of us just think they're annoying.
