Cloth Diapering

Storage of Cloth Wipes

What do you store your wet cloth wipes in?

I like to wet a handful of wipes at a time so they are ready to use for changes, and I store them in an empty disposable wipes container.

This morning I found an earwig in it!!! Now I'm freaked and I want to find a better container that won't allow anything in.

Re: Storage of Cloth Wipes

  • I am horrified of earwigs!

    Maybe a Ziploc?

  • This is what I do too. I think the bug was a coicidence. Any container that is sealed would also have the wipes getting musty VERY quickly. I would stick with the system you have.

  • what is an earwig!? Never heard of this!!!

  • Not allowing anything in, would probably promote mold and mildew if you are storing wipes wet.

I store my wipes dry in an empty plastic tub and use a peri bottle to wet them as needed.

This, but I use a canvas box to store mine.

  • We use a spray... I spray DS down (it is california baby spray), and store my dry wipes in an old pampers pop-up box. I fold them out of the laundry so they pop up like real wipes do and are easy to access. There is a youtube video if you are interested, but it's really easy and convenient.

Thanks, I might have to try wetting them as I go rather than storing wet. Everytime I reach in I'm freaked out now!
