Anyone LOVE their DC?

I always hear horror stories about DC, or people looking to switch? Does anyone LOVE their DC and are happy with their choice?

  • Yes!

Our DC is about 2 blocks from our home. They work with our schedule, and we only have to pay when the kids are there. They gave us a discount when we brought second one in. They are the cheapest around $5/hour for 2 kids). And most importantly, when DS was 1, we were sitting in Christmas Eve service at my husband's church and all of a sudden he started reaching back behind DH, and trying to squirm out of his lap. The DC director was sitting 2 rows behind us, and he wanted to go to her! We love it there!

  • Yes - i love our DC.  The teachers and directors are like family at this point.  My oldest has been there almost 5 years.  The teachers have had all 3 of my kids and treat them like their own.  They cried when my daughter had to leave (she has SN and has to go to public school to get her services).  We use several of the teachers to babysit on weekends.  I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I love my DC!  If I were to get a new job it would be in a location near the DC.

  • My DD goes to a home daycare and I LOVE it there!  She is great with DD and she looks forward to going to daycare. We don't have to pay if DC provider is closed or on vacation.  She even offered to watch DD on the weekends if we ever need a sitter for a night out (we haven't used her yet, but it's nice to keep in mind.)  They do preschool every day and she eats better at daycare then she does at home most days!

I told our DCP about baby#2 right after my BFP so she could save us a spot.

  • Yes.  DD goes to a family child care provider and I could not be happier.

I have worked professionally with child care providers (centers, homes, before and after care, Head Start, etc.) for about 12 years now and I thank my lucky stars every day that we were able to get in with our provider.  She and her staff are professional, knowledgeable, they love the children, and DD is beyond happy there.  I consider it a bonus that she's so close to work and home and her rates are quite affordable for an accredited program!

Love Love Love it!  I recommend it to anyone looking.  His teacher gave us her personal cell phone number in case of an emergency (after telling her that DH and I both had the flu and tried to take care of J).  They pout when he'll be out for a day (good-natured), and get so excited when we bring him in the morning "Yay! J is here, time to play!"

  • Yes, we loved their first one especially...when I toured a few, it was the one that gave me the best feeling, everyone was warm, I liked the atmosphere, etc. It ended up being the most expensive that I looked at but was worth it.  We moved & while I really like the new one I don't 'love' it as much but I think that is probably b/c they're in a different age group & type of class now & we don't have the relationship of having grown up with them like we did in the last one. I had trouble transitioning to the new style/approach in the beginning but my kids certainly seem happy and don't want to leave some days and that is all that matters!

Our Teacher gave us her personal phone number also!!! When DD first started she knew I was nervous haha. She texted me with pics of DD and told me to text her anytime because she knew I couldn't be on the phone at work:) I did for the 1st couple of weeks but now I only text for for specific reasons!! i just love them!!!! I love getting unexpected pics of DD playing at DC!

  • LOVE our center. Of course, LO has only been there a few months, but we have learned so much from them.

We feel lucky to have a spot there. Hiring a nanny was our other option. My LO is so social and loves all the other babies, so I really think we made the best choice for us.

  • We love love love our DC. It is basically our new family. The teachers are wonderful and caring and go the extra mile for the children. It is a very loving wonderful atmosphere and I feel so comfortable knowing my kids spend all or part of their days there!

  • I do!  I heard so many horror stories about daycare that I drove myself insane over sending my kids (but a nanny wasn't a good choice for us, and I HAD to go back to work, so...).  We were in a center that was good for years but went downhill, so we moved.    We love where we are now.  Specifics?  Every teacher I see is genuinely happy to see the children.  The kids are always smiling, or being comforted well if they aren't for some reason.  My kids are happy to go there (this was not the case at the other place-a sure sign to me).  They encourage family involvment, and immediately address any concern I have.  I'm really, really thankful for the care they receive.

  • We love ours. They do such a great job, I can tell they truly care about my child, and he is always fed, changed, and well taken care of. That is all I can really ask for.

    DS born Dec 10, 2013
  • We really do.  My husband actually went to this same DC 33 years ago and they have the same director.  It really feel like having a family member there.  The teachers are great and I am able to go over at lunch and BF everyday which is such a blessing.

This sounds like me exactly--right down to the telling her about the BFP to save a spot for #2. Ours is the SIL of a friend of mine, and I feel totally comfortable leaving DS with anyone in her family--they're all crazy about him--and I know she cares for him as if he was one of her own.

  • I love it so much that I would recommend it to everyone.  I also cry when DD changes classrooms b/c I adore her teacher so much.

  • I LOVE my DC. It's a small licensed in-home, and I can't imagine DD anywhere else.

  • I am also in love with my DC and am sad we are moving away in the next few months.

We actually turned down an awesome house, because it was too far from out DC.

We love her because she works with our schedules, is available on short notice and we only pay for the time that DS is there!

  • I don't know I would go so far as love but I really really like our day care.  They are super professional, the teachers are great, and they have a strong curriculum.

  • I love, love, love our daycare.

But unfortuntately it doesn't work out anymore because of where I teach now.  I teach in the complete opposite direction of the daycare.  We made it work this last year, but there was also zero snow this last winter.

Now I am trying to find a new daycare and having a heck of a time because I love the one we are at so much and nothing else is quite as good

  • Yes, we actually moved across town and it added on another 35 minutes to her house. I cried at her house when I told her, we loved her.

We tried another daycare close to home...and now we go back to her because we love her. She is a part of my life. I love her and trust her.
