Hi, Ladies,
I am 5w6d pg and have had no hint of spotting or discharge to date. This morning when I wiped there was a drop of blood on the tp. It was quite literally a drop, as small as a seasame seed maybe. I have not one ounce of cramping, and I when I checked internally there was no hint of color, brown or red. It looks more like I picked a scab and dabbed on it than a swipe of color. I realize this sounds utterly rediculous and I should just call my ob, but my first appointment isn't for another three weeks, and since they have never met me yet, I feel sort of silly. I just checked again and the paper was totally clean. First time mom freaking over nothing, or should I just be that annoying call at the OB?
Re: First time pg, one drop of blood...
I had that happen a couple of times in the first trimester w/ DD and everything was fine. The first time it was more blood than that (though not a lot), and it turned out I had a UTI. I had the pin drop too and freaked out out a little (b/c none of us like seeing blood down there when pregnant), and everything was fine. They told me the same as you said, that maybe it was from a scratch or something down there. The skin there is super-sensitive when pregnant and can bleed easily.
I actually had a drop of red blood on the TP w/ this pregnancy too, but it was the day AF was supposed to come so I think it was implantation spotting.
Make a pregnancy ticker
"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?...But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:26-27&33-34
I had a drop or so of red blood with both pregnancies right around 6-7 wks. No idea why, but it happened and both pregnancies were healthy. It's definitely scary, though.
If you call, most likely they will tell you to hydrate, put your feet up and try to relax.
