Sorry it's a bit long. I have to give the speech in 2 weeks and I'm so nervous. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!! Should I make any changes? Is it funny? or corny? TIA.

Good evening everyone. For those of you who don?t know me, my name is Bumpie and I am the matron of honor and Kate?s cousin.

First off, I would like to say to Kate or more affectionately known as, ?Nickname? by her family, that Nickname, you look so beautiful tonight. Second, I would like to thank all of you for being here tonight for Kate and John. I know they can feel all of the love that you guys have for them.

Even though Kate is my cousin, she is more like a sister and she is my very best friend. We have been pretty much inseparable since we were little girls - from tea parties, to Chuck E. Cheese parties, to many (and I mean many) high school and college parties?we have so many great memories together.

No major event has happened in my entire life that she has not been by my side. She has always been there for me. She has always been the one that I could lean on and rely on. She is an amazing person and John is so lucky to have won her heart. Not to say that Kate isn?t lucky too to have won John?s heart.

I am sure that many of you would agree with me that if I asked Kate if she could be reincarnated, who or what would she come back as that she would probably say that she would like to come back as a Princess. So it probably comes as no surprise to you to know that John?s pet name for Kate is Princess Kate.

Even though she is not a real Princess in this life, she possesses many virtues of one. She is beautiful both inside and out, she is very intelligent and wise, she is kind and giving, especially to her friends and family and she has her own distinct style. And I know like a true princess, she will be a loving and loyal wife to John. Like any other little girl, Kate has always dreamed of a fairytale love story and I?m so happy that she?s found it.

John, from the first time that I met you, I could tell what a wonderful person you are ? your kindness, intelligence, your sincerity and honesty and your easy going nature have won us all over.

Kate has always been a very happy and positive person, a trait that she gets from her amazing mom, my Aunt, but I can say for sure that after that first day that she met you, her happiness has increased ten-fold. When she is with you, she is all smiles all of the time. You definitely bring out the best in her. And I?d like to thank you because I no longer have to deal with the worst of her.

Being in the room for even five minutes with them, you can see how much they really love and admire each other. They are best friends.

John, I would like for you to take Kate?s hand because I?m about to get real sentimental. Please place your hand on top of it. Look at it - your hand on top of hers. Look at it and cherish this moment because this is the last time that you will ever have the upper hand.

John, I want to welcome you to the family. We are thrilled to have you in it. I can?t wait for the great times ahead and I wish you two all of the happiness in the world. I love you both.
