I'll be 42 in July and DH have been trying on and off for #2 since last Fall. We really aren't trying that hard and I haven't been that good in terms of avoiding alcohol, caffeine, etc, like I was with TTC #1. DH is happy with just the one kid so we're just trying and if it happens great, if not, it won't be the end of the world.
But I've been curious about my hormone levels so I had them tested. My FSH came back at 9, which I keep reading is a bit too high for natural conception. We're most likely not going to do IVF at this point in our lives.
Just out of curiosity and maybe to give me a little hope, anyone get pregnant with an FSH of 9? I know other factors have to be considered, but I'm wondering... should we even bother TTC?
Re: FSH=9
I have seen plenty of ladies come through here that have gotten pregnant with fsh higher than yours. By chance do you know if your cd3 estrogen number was normal? High estrogen can suppress fsh values. Another good test for ovarian reserve is amh. It may not hurt to check that your tubes are still open as that can change since you had your lo, and there are people who get a nice cleansing flush post hsg than helps them get their bfp.
Good luck!

um, see siggy.
my FSH was MUCH higher than that (at age 34, too) and my AMH (also a test of ovarian reserve) was low, which is poor.
I got very lucky and got pregnant w/o meds, but my RE was reccomending IVF, and even donor eggs, at our first consult.
If you want another child it's absolutley worth it to try - I highly suggest charting.
good luck.
