Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, or corpus luteum cyst??

I'm 7 wks pregnant and very worried. I have had brown discharge almost everyday and one day it turned to red blood (only one time) then back to brown discharge. I have sharp pains that are not that bad every maybe 3 hours or so on my left side near my pelvic bone. Could this be a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, or a corpus luteum cyst?? I have a dr. appt on thursday, but I'm just very worried. Has anyone else had this problem?? What were the results?

  • Unfortunately,  many of us here have had the same symptoms, and all of our stories have ended negatively. Maybe try posting to the 1st Tri or 2nd Tri boards to see if there is anyone there that has been through the same thing and has had a positive result. None of us can tell you what is happening, but we can keep you in our thoughts and prayers that you do not have to end up over here on this board. I would try to take it as easy as possible physically until your next appt with your doctor. Have you tried calling to get in any earlier? If your symptoms get worse, or you cant take not knowing, maybe you could go to the ER to get a workup and u/s.

I'm sorry that you're scared but this really isn't an appropriate place to ask this. Are you really looking to hear our horror stories? It won't give you any hope.

I had no symptoms at all with my first loss until the ultrasound showed my baby was gone, lifeless with no heartbeat. With my second loss, I had brown mucousy spotting, panicked and went to the doctor and once again saw my lifeless baby. With my ectopic, I had cramps that began that morning and by noon were unbearable. I wasn't able to walk, I was stuck doubled over shaking terribly.

I know you're worried. And I'm truly sorry, but the ladies here are beyond the stage of "worrying". I'd give anything to have a baby to be worried about.

FWIW, spotting can be very normal during pregnancy, and there are tons of weird cramps, twinges, pains, etc that women experience as well.

  • I would see if you could see your doctor earlier than Thursday.  I truly hope and pray that you are not having a miscarriage or ectopic but I think if you are having sharp pain it is best to get it checked out.  I'm sorry that you're going through this and I really hope that you do not have to come over to this board.
