If you ladies have not heard of this website, check it out! I just got a tiny blue hat in the mail with an adorable footprint charm on the front. Enclosed was a card that said:

 Itsy bitsy hats

Made for

Teeny tiny angels...

With a whole bunch of love

 

The woman started the site after losing her own baby. You go on the site, share your story and they send you a tiny hat for free. There is also a pattern and now I'm determined to learn how to knit so I can donate some hats too!

Oh, P.S. the hats are only for babies born before 28 weeks gestation.

That's a sweet idea, and awesome that you're going to learn how to make the hats yourself to donate!

When we held our son after he was born (and after he had passed), he was wearing a little knit hat that was later sent home with us.  He was also wrapped in a handmade quilt that someone had donated.  I'd love to do something similar because these two items are now my most prized possessions. 

They are my prized possessions too, I remember thinking how grateful I was to have those has that fit them so perfectly. It like somone thought of how we fel and howmuch it means that no matter how tiny, somthing was made just for them.
