I have a nephew named Gavin David! Great name and I like that it has family significance.

Since you asked which one "sounds" best I picked Gavin Alexander but I think I like Gavin David best, mostly due to the family significance.

Thanks ladies, my only concern with Gavin David is that DH is named after FIL and my nephew has his middle name. I just don't know if we need 3 boys in the family named after him. I love my father in law and he is the only person that I would even consider naming my son after (except DH of course, but I don't really like his name). Thanks for all of your input!

I like the flow of Gavin Alexander better than Gavin David, but I like the family connection with David.

I like the way Gavin Alexander sounds. but if you want to keep family significance why dont you use your husbands first name as your babies middle name?  just a thought.

DH's name is Stephen it doesn't sound good with Gavin and I don't like it lol. I wish that would work though
