5 week 5 day u/s ...

I'm having an u/s tomorrow.  According to my last cycle (like clockwork, 28 day cycles) I'll be exactly 5 weeks 5 days.  Has anyone saw a hearbeat this soon?  Surely I'll see a gest. sac and yolk sac (right?).  I'm just so nervous and not sure what to expect so early!  TIA!

Honestly its probably very doubtful to get a reading on a heartbeat when your only that far along. I had an u/s at 6w1d and we saw the heartbeat and she barely got a measurement on it. I wouldn't get my hopes up if you don't see one but that doesn't mean anything is wrong.

I had one at exactly 6 weeks and she had to do an internal. We saw him/her and the ultrasound tech determined the heartbeat was 117, but it was too early to hear it.

i had my first u/s at 7weeks and 1 day, and we could see the heartbeat, but it was really hard to pick up...so i would guess 5weeks might be too soon

You may not see anything at all - which is totally fine.  I had an internal ultrasound that early with my first, and didn't see anything.  Two weeks later we saw/measured the heartbeat.  Good Luck!

I was charting, so I was certain I was 5 weeks 6 days at my first ultrasound. We were able to see the flicker of a heartbeat but it was too soon to measure the reading. If you don't see anything, don't stress. Without knowing when you ovulated in your 28 day cycle you could be a day or two shy of where you think you are and that makes all the difference this early on. Good luck!

At 6w2d, they were barely able to detect the hb at 116.  It took the tech a lot of work to pick it up.

Also, even with having a consistent 28 day cycle it is possible to be later than the date your LMP estimates.  I have a 28-29 day cycle, but ovulate closer to cd18 so if I were in your shoes I would have no hope for seeing a hb that early. Just something to keep in mind, try not to be too disappointed if you don't see a hb this early.

I had an u/s last week at 5w4d and there was a gest. sac and yolk sac but no h/b or fetal pole yet.  I was told by the ER doctor not to worry at all - he said it was totally normal for that point of gestation.  Of course in my head I'm still sad I didn't see anything else, but I think that it really is normal.

I had my first ultra-sound at 6 weeks. We did an internal one as well and we were able to hear the hearbeat and get measurements. I think it varies with different women. Good Luck!

I had my first u/s at 5 wks 6 days and we were able to see a flicker of a heartbeat. My ob told me she could not measure it at that point and that's why I am going back in tomorrow to see what the heart is beating at. Good luck tomorrow!

The heartbeat can be heard thru a transvaginal u/s at 6w 2d...you will definitely see a getational sac and yolk sac and maybe even a fetal pole...good luck

We saw a heart beat at 6w1day.

We saw the hb at 5weeks 6days and my OB was even impressed saying they normally don't see it till even 7weeks with some women. So don't worry if you don't.

We were very lucky and saw AND heard the heartbeat at 5 wks 5 days. We know the dates were correct because I used ovulation predictors. The doctor and the nurse were very impressed and said it was a "really good" sign that we saw and heard what we did. Good luck to you tomorrow!
